This morning I picked up my birthday present to myself (27 on the 19th) from Evans in Bristol. It is a 2014 Trek Skye mountain bike.

I then proceeded to cycle it home. Having only been on gym bikes during adult hood there was of course that initial fear of falling over especially as I was cycling with a full rucksack and a hefty bag with my partner Steve’s birthday present in it too. Up hill.  For two miles. Throughout 28mph gusts.

Needless to say it was slow going and I wasn’t very confident and I did a fair few dodgy wobbles but that’ll progress in time.

Nothing quite like taking the cellophane off a nice shiny new toy 🙂
